What's the difference?
In Play-by-email (PBeM), posts are sent to a central mailing list and distributed to the entire crew. Play by bulletin board (PBB) uses a bulletin board instead of a mailing list, and may have different boards for different areas of the ship, etc. Players must log in to the bulletin board or forum in order to read and write posts. Play by SMS (PBSMS) is a combination of the two, with a web-based interface available (like PBB) and posts also distributed over a mailing list (like PBeM).
